Bill has enjoyed a long career in direct marketing and ecommerce. Prior to founding SabinoDB, he served as co-President and Chief Marketing Officer for Orchard Brands, a $1 billion collection of catalog companies; president of Charming Shoppes (Lane Bryant) Direct; general manager of Sears Direct; senior vice president of Lands’ End; group research director at Forrester Research; and was a co-founder of Boston.com, the Boston Globe’s internet company. He also co-founded Fair Indigo, a direct to consumer apparel brand, and Black Wolf Group which includes local moving companies and home healthcare businesses. Bill has served on the board of directors of both the Data and Marketing Association (formerly the Direct Marketing Association) and Shop.org (the ecommerce arm of the National Retail Federation). He also served on the board of directors of Tractor Supply Company and Essendant. Before his business career, Bill was an Army paratrooper and helicopter gunship instructor pilot. He received a B.A. from Princeton University, an M.B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University, and an M.S. in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.

Prior to joining SabinoDB, Linda spent 38 years in information technology, direct marketing, and ecommerce. Linda’s senior IT roles included managing the consolidation of 13 websites into single front- and back-end platforms at Orchard Brands, a $1 billion collection of catalog companies; and managing a similar project for the 2,000-store retailer Charming Shoppes which owned the Lane Bryant, Catherines and Fashion Bug brands. Linda served as Director of Operations for Fair Indigo, a startup direct to consumer apparel brand, managing IT, customer service, and logistics.  She also spent 13 years with Lands’ End managing IT for ecommerce, customer service, creative services, international, and retail.  Prior to Lands’ End, Linda spent 14 years as a systems engineer with IBM.  She holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Mathematics and Economics.

Mark Sorkin

Co-Founder and VP of Data Sciences

Mark’s specialty is Web analytics, digital and direct marketing, and developing and managing multichannel customer databases. Mark has served as the Director of Online Marketing and Analytics for Orchard Brands; AVP for Digital Marketing and Web Analytics at Ascena Retail Group; Director of Online Marketing, Analytics and Usability for Charming Shoppes; Director of Database Marketing and Web Analytics for Quill (a division of Staples); and the Manager of Multichannel Analytics for Sears. Mark has a passion for Web analytics and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including the Adobe Marketing Summit, Etail, and Shop.org. Mark is Six Sigma certified and holds degrees in Marketing, Statistics, Computer Programming and Mathematics from the University of Illinois and Roosevelt University.

Nick Rashev

Chief Technical Officer

Nick brings substantial programing and database expertise to SabinoDB and is our resident expert in Amazon Web Services and its Redshift database. Nick started coding in Assembler at the age of 13, studied both computer science and business in college, was an IBM project technical lead at age 23, and founded his first software company at age 25. Nick has since been a serial entrepreneur, founding several successful technology, software, and streaming app companies in his native Bulgaria and the United States. Nick has served on the board of the Bulgarian Association of Software Companies and as an IT advisor to the Bulgarian Minister of State Administration. Nick also developed our hiring motto of “no brilliant jerks”. Nick graduated from the Technical University of Sofia.

Zlatka Staykova

Data Scientist

Our most academically-accomplished teammate, Zlatka holds a PhD in high energy particle physics from the University of Hamburg (Germany) and has co-authored more than 160 scientific publications including particle physics research at CERN. Since joining the business world in 2014, Zlatka has developed a number of iOS apps and worked as a data analyst conducting text mining, ElasticSearch and Google Analytics reporting, and social media mining through FaceBook and Twitter APIs. In addition to her PhD, Zlatka holds a B.S. in theoretical physics from her native Bulgaria.

Richie Preciado

Sr. Analyst & Operations Specialist

Richie has worked in most areas of digital sales. Before coming to SabinoDB, Richie worked as a Sr. Digital Marketing Analyst for Orchard Brands where he led 6 diverse teams through user experience, personalization and segmentation; supported a universal cart for 13 brands; focused on SEO and SEM strategies. Richie has shared his expertise of user experience and A/B testing as a speaker at vendor summits. Prior to moving to digital Richie worked as catalog circulation analyst, working on segmentation, promotions and testing.
